A commercial taxi driver named Abdullahi Sadiq Karafa, was at the weekend allegedly beaten to death by some military personnel on duty, for allegedly violating the curfew imposed by the state government, following the killings in Plateau.
Our correspondent gathered that KKatara the commercial driver met his death in the hands of the soldiers when he was apprehended at Farin Gada axis, Jos, North local government area by military personnel on duty while driving before the curfew hours.
According to sources, Kafara was beaten with a stick after he was ordered to step down from his car by the officers.
Confirming the sad incident, in a statement by the Military information officer of Operation Safe Haven deployed to restore law and order Major Ishaku Tarka, said it received with shock a report of security personnel of OPSH deployed at Farin Gada who eat and murdered a commercial taxi driver Mr Abdullahi Karafa.
The statement reads that Immediately after the report was received, the commander of Operation Safe Haven Major General Ibrahim Ali visited the deceased family and condoled them over the unfortunate incident
The commander has since constituted a board of inquiry to unravel those behind the heinous act.
He assured that those who would be found culpable will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The statement further reads that Operation Safe Haven wishes to rereiteratehat troops deployed on the Plateau were always warned to conduct themselves most professionally in line with global best practices and respect for the fundamental human rights of the citizenry and strict adherence to rules of engagement.
Therefore, any act short of this is condemnable and unacceptable by OPSH, he further added
