Ex-Abia deputy gov, Oko-Chukwu dumps PDP

The immediate past Deputy Governor of Abia State, Chief Ude Oko-Chukwu, on Friday, resigned as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
This was contained in a letter he wrote to the PDP chairman, Ndi Elu ward Nkporo Ohafia Local Government Area.
According to the former deputy governor, who did not give a hint on his next political step, his resignation was for personal reasons.
He noted that leaving PDP was the best decision for his political career, stressing that it was a difficult decision to make.
The letter read in part, “You may wish to note that I am resigning due to personal reasons, while it was a difficult decision to make, it is the best course of action for me at this time.
“I am grateful for the opportunity the party availed me to serve at various levels and appreciate the experience and knowledge gained during my membership of the party.
“Thank you for your understanding and support in this matter even as I wish you the best for the future.”
Oko-Chukwu who is also a former speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly also contested for tickets of PDP ticket for the 2023 governorship election in the state but lost to Chief Okey Ahaiwe.
