Tinubu secures 370 delegates, submits APC presidential form

The All-Progressives Congress chieftain and National leader of the party, Bola Tinubu has submitted his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the presidential primary of the party ahead of other aspirants.
Tinubu submitted the forms to the party on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Tinubu submitted his forms yesterday, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, through Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, House of Representatives member from Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke; a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, among others.

He made the submission of the forms after securing the signature of 370 statutory delegates as required by the party which is a major requirement for all aspirants.

Briefing Journalists after submitting the form, Babachir Lawal said: “I feel elated that today we have come to submit the winning form and we have complied with one of the major requirements of the party for contesting for presidency on the platform of APC.

We have done all that is required. We have submitted all the documents that are required.

“As you can see, we have received our acknowledgement copy and we are confident that victory will be ours on 30th May during the convention.

“There are no challenges, we are politicians. We have been in this game for many years. Whatever challenges there are, we will convert them to opportunities. I’m a democrat, every politician should not be afraid of election.”
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba, has reportedly submitted his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari for him to pursue his presidential ambition.

President Buhari has ordered that all aspirants in his cabinet as well as other political appointees in government should resign their positions if they have political ambitions in 2023. All concerned are to resign on or before 16 May 2022.

Also, the APC is considering postponing of form submission, sources within the party have hinted, in order to give aspirants some more time to fill and submit their forms.
