Edo To Enforce Covid-19 Rules On National Sports Fiesta

Deputy governor of Edo State, Hon Philip Shaibu, has said that there will be daily testing of Covid-19 rules for all athlete and officials attending the now rescheduled National Sports festival tagged Edo2020.
He was speaking after the National Council on Sports, announced provisional approval for Edo to host the annual event in Asaba, Delta state, weekend.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF) and the President Muhammadu Buhari will however, have the final say on whether the recommendations of the NSC is acceptable or not.
The NSC recommended that the Games Village would open on Thursday, December 3rd and close December 18th with the opening ceremony for December 5th, and closing ceremony for Thursday, December 17th.
The competition is expected to be in two phases: 1is for December 6 to10, break and 2nd phase is December 12 to December 16, 2020.

He also said that all infrastructure is in place as confirmed by the National Assembly inspection visit to the facilities in Edo state.
The 20th National Sports Festival (NSF) originally meant to take place in March through April 2020 in Benin City, Edo State, is now for December 3rd to December 17th.
