PDP Board of Trustees member, Joy Emordi moves to APC

Former Senator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Anambra North constituency in Anambra State, Senator Joy Emordi, has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Emordi who is member, PD Board of Trustees was received by the Chairman of APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Governors’Forum, Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, along with the Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Senator Ken Nnamani, former Senate President on Wednesday in Abuja

Speaking while she decamped she said she was convinced that the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC. She described the APC leadership as sincerely and genuinely committed to a united Nigeria that has plans for the future generation.

She said: “l assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.”

“the APC led federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.”

According to a statement by Yahaya Saraki , Special Adviser (SA) Media to Kebbi State Governor he said that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC is waxing stronger as a member, Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Joy Emordi and Okey Ezenwa, Former PDP Zonal Secretary and Former member PDP Presidential Campaign Council today, Wednesday 3/8/2021 defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman Progressives Governors’Forum, Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, along with the Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Senator Ken Nnamani, former Senate President formally received the Senator in Abuja.
Senator Emordi, expressed optimsm that the future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lay in the APC.

She described the APC leadership as sincerely and genuinely committed to a united Nigeria that has plans for the future generation.
The legislator assured the party of her loyalty and her supporters to the party “l assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.”

Sen. Emordi said “the APC led- federal government is working for the South East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.”

The Chairman CECPC Mai Mala Buni, expressed delight with the decision taken by the board member to contribute to the unity of the country.

He averred ‘ There is need for us to join hands for the political stability and national unity of our dear country” he said.

Governor Buni said the coming of Sen. Emordi and other prominent politicians from the South East into the APC will promote national unity.

“The South east is a strong political block and very crucial to the unity of the country, this will mo doubt add to national cohesion ” said the Chairman.

The Chairman Progressives Governors’Forum, Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu with other national leaders of the party have been in the forefront of promoting national unity and cohesion through the party by wooing people of different ethnic groups into APC.
