The Anambra State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Vincent Ogu has cautioned officers and men of the Intelligence and Investigation Department of the command to put more effort into the area of intelligence gathering from the civil populace.
He also warned them against indolence, complacency, and negligence in the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Ogu issued the warning in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the outfit DSC.
Okadigbo Edwin on Friday at the end of the meeting with all the Intelligence and Investigation officers in the three Area Commands and twenty-one Local Government Areas of the state held in Awka, the state capital.
He charged them to be proactive in carrying out their duties considering the relative advantage NSCDC has as a grassroots security outfit.

He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by some of the officers for the relative peace and security in the State, pointing out that the Corps will soon appreciate and reward them.
According to him, there was no reason or excuse for officers and men not to perform despite the welfare packages and operational support from the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi.
You reaffirmed the Command’s support and protection of both lives of Anambrarians and residents alike as well as the government’s critical National Assets and Infrastructures.
He appealed to Anambrarians and residents alike to support and volunteer information to the Corps that could lead to arrest and prosecution of offenders in the collective fight against crimes and criminality in the Anambra State.
