Mbaise kinsman murders retired FMC nurse sister in Umuahia

A newly hired gateman and kinsman to a retired sister, Queenet Alozie is on the run over the murder of his employer in Umuahia last Sunday.

On that faithful Sunday, the older gateman had asked the new gateman to stand in while he attends a church service

The older gateman (names withheld), said he came back from the church and couldn’t gain entry as the gate was locked and no sign of the new gateman.

“I called his (gateman’s) phone number many times and his line was switched off. I then called that of my madam, there was also no response”, he said adding that when he couldn’t get any answers to his calls, he became worried and along with neighbours, broke open the gate and as usual, went in through the back door to the house, only to see the woman lying lifelessly in her own pool of blood and with a wound at the head as if she was cut with an axe.

As of the time of this report, the whereabouts of the second gateman is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Abia State Police Command has confirmed the assassination.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, the investigation is on to unravel the circumstances that led to the death of the widow.
