The former governor of Ekiti state and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the party remains the hope of Nigerians at large.
The former governor made this known on Friday in a series of tweets on his Twitter handle.
Recall that the former governor and his group lost out in the election of officers at the south-west zonal congress of the PDP that was held in Oyo state.
Makinde floors Fayose as Arapaja emerges PDP South-West chairman
Also speaking on Channels TV on Tuesday Fayose had said that the election was a “scam”.
But on Friday Fayose accentuated his support for the winner of the election Mr Taofeeq Arapaja, a former deputy governor of Oyo State saying ‘I make bold to say that Eddy Olafeso, myself and other leaders on this side will cooperate with Ambassador Arapaja’s team to make our party a success story in the Zone.’
He said that ‘PDP remains our only hope and that of Nigerians at large. It must therefore be jealously preserved by our priceless sacrifice. This is our bond. ‘
Therefore, I make bold to say that Eddy Olafeso, myself and other leaders on this side will cooperate with Ambassador Arapaja’s team to make our party a success story in the Zone.
Let all well wishers of our party be assured that the Fayose Group in the South-West PDP that I lead by God’s grace, will stand by our words and will not challenge the outcome of the South-West Congress in the court.
