Wike kicks against frivolous injunctions in FCT land administration

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the attention of the FCT judiciary has been drawn to the indiscriminate injunctions against growing sharp practices in the territory, especially in the land administration.

The Minister stated this yesterday while playing host to the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, who was on a courtesy visit to the minister.

Wike maintained that he is going to replicate Rivers State’s height in the FCT with a promise that his administration will build houses for judges at retirement, asking the Chief Judge to intimate his Administration where necessary in the area of the welfare of judicial officers.

He told the visiting judges led by the FCT Chief Judge that the welfare of judges is paramount if the country wants to win the battle against corruption, with the assurance that the administration of renewed hope of President Tinubu will bring back the good time that judicial officers are free from mental torture of poor working conditions.
Responding, the FCT Chief Judge said the issue of perpetual injunctions has been tackled, saying the judges under him have been directed that only his office can henceforth assign cases concerning land matters.

Justice Baba-Yusuf maintained that perpetual injunctions are not good for the health of the administration and the development of the FCT.
