
An Upper Area Court in Zuba, on Thursday, ordered that a 27-year-old mason, David Danjuma, who pleaded guilty to stealing a cell phone, be remanded in a correctional facility.
The Judge, Gambo Garba gave the order after Danjuma pleaded guilty to criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Garba however reserved his sentence until Oct.13.
The Prosecution Counsel, Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant, Theodora Francis, reported the matter at Dutse Alhaji Police Station on July 3.
Ogada said that Danjuma pleaded with the complainant to lend him her phone to make a call.

He said that the defendant stole the phone which is worth N31,000 after making the call.
The offense, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
