Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has said that Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka lacks the moral authority to condemn viral video of the National Association of Seadogs, also known as Pyrates confraternity, gyrating to a song mocking presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu.
ThisNigeria had reported that Soyinka had condemned the mockery of Tinubu’s health by the Seadogs.
The Seadogs, in a viral video during their meeting, had gyrated to a song mocking Tinubu for his speech at an event in June held at Abeokuta where he declared that it was his turn to be president of the country.
Disassociating himself from the video, Soyinka who is also the founder of the confraternity group in a statement said he finds the act “appalling and distasteful.

Reacting to this in a statement via Instagram, Omokri said Soyinka lacked the moral authority to do so as he had done the same with Former First Lady of the country Patience Jonathan.
He said “Professor Wole Soyinka, who insulted Patience Jonathan, calling her a rather crude and rude name, which out of respect for her I will not mention here, is now upset that the Pyrates confraternity, which he founded, is mocking Tinubu? He called it distasteful!
“How tasteful was it for a Nobel laureate to insult the wife of a President, not for any government policy, but for her weight and perceived political influence in Rivers state? Not that I support the Pyrates video.
“I refused to post it. But if the video must be condemned, surely it should not be by Soyinka! He lacks the moral authority to so condemn”.
