The bilateral  tie between Nigeria and Taiwan took a new dimension, when House Committee on Basic Education and services visited Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria, Thompson Avenue Ikoyi, Lagos to share their technology  experience with Nigerians Lawmakers.

The idea, according to them was to ensure a smooth technology transfer from Taiwan to Nigeria as part of cushioning effects to aid Nigeria out of the economic recession.

Addressing the news men, the representative of Taipei Trade Office in Nigeria Andy Yih-Ping Liu said the reason why is hosting the Basic Education and Services Committee of the House of Representatives is to welcome them and his good friend, Professor Julius Ihonvbere to Taiwan office in Nigeria.

Mr. Andy Yih-Ping Liu added that the relationship between Nigeria in term of human resources is cordial and Taiwan cherished Nigeria economic especially in this second face of Covid-19 pandemic and insecurity.

Responding, the Chairman House Committee on Basic Education and Services, Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere said he read many things about the Taiwan government hence the need to visit the office to see by themselves , saying in terms of infrastructural development they have try their best.

Taiwan revises regulations to attract int’l civil organisations

Hon. Prof. Julius Ihonvbere added that since the Covid-19 pandemic started Taiwan have hard any case which showed the leadership quality from them.

Earlier, the House Committee on Basic Education and Services visited some primary schools in Lagos to carry out their oversight functions where they query some the projects.
