The wife of the late Publisher of the Leadership Newspaper and Chairman of the company, Mrs. Zainab Sam Nda Isaiah, has disclosed that she didn’t wish that the veteran publisher should die so that she can assume the chairmanship of the company.
Mrs. Nda Isaiah made these solemn remarks during the 2020 Leadership Conference & Awards with the theme: ” National And Regional Insecurity: The Role of Political And Non-Political Actors In Stabilization And Consensus Building”, noting that the full measure of a man is never known until maybe in her estimation after they have passed.
She said she did wish that she can fill the shoe of her late husband who’s dream has become a national institution. She said she desires to continue to expand and preserve the institution as a legacy.
According to her: ” I didn’t wish that my husband should die so that I can assume the chairmanship of this company. But, a year later, his dream has become a national institution. I have always known that his ideas will booster. That his plans to prosper and then he will be a great man. I knew that. But honestly, I never know the measure of his wealth in the way I have come to know it in the last 272 days.
“It is somehow ironic that the full measure of a man may be in my own in humble estimation, of a nan or a woman, is never quite manifest until they have passed. Then you begin to see their wealth. How they have impacted people. How they have touched lives. The things they have put on the ground that is still living on after them.
“I did not assume the position of chairman to fill his shoe. My shoes are just alright for me. I stepped up with the encouragement and support of my children, family, and friends to run with this baton that was handed over to me quite suddenly. And by God’s grace, I desire to preserve and expand the Sam Nda Isaiah extraordinary accomplishments”, she said.
She however expressed her appreciation to God, family, and friends for their encouragement and support for allowing her husband brilliant effort to live on. She congratulated the awards recipients praying that it is her wish that their stories continue to inspire others.

She said: ” I will not be here today without God, family, and good people like you who have given me cause to believe that my husband’s brilliant effort shall indeed live on and continue to bear fruit even after him. With this, I am truly and eternally grateful.
“Permit me to congratulate the award recipients and express my hope that they are truly worthy of this award. And I also pray that their stories will continue to inspire and inspire others.
“On our part, Leadership will continue to do the best it can in memory of my husband, the founding chairman, and above all, we will do this food and country”, she added.
