A severe road accident occurred in Akunu Akoko, Ondo state this morning where four persons including the driver were seriously injured.
An eyewitness account said the accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration Edo Gbz700 XA and a stationary Army broke down vehicle numbered NA 323 OPS 03.
According to him, the Toyota bus was at top speed when the incident occurred.
Confirming the crash, the unit commander of FRSC Ikare-Akoko Oluropo Alabi said his men went for a rescue operation where the injured were brought to Ikare -Akoko Specialist Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Divisional Police Officer, Ikare Akoko, SP Olatujoye Akinwande attributed the incident to high speed due to the newly constructed road between Ikaram and Akuna.

The regent of Akunu-Akoko called on motorists passing through the ancient town to always limit their speed.
Princess Orogun called on the state Ministry of Works to quickly install speed breakers on the new road within the town to reduce carnages.
It would be recalled that last week eight passengers also lost their lives along the same Ikaram-Akunu road due to tire burst as a result of overspeeding.
