A student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state, Subair Enitan, has been hospitalised after completing a 58-hour handwashing marathon in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record.
Enitan, a 200-level student embarked on the challenge on Monday, November 20, 2023, to surpass the current record of 55 hours.
She reportedly washed her hands continuously for 58 hours, using only water and soap.
However, upon completing the challenge, she was immediately taken to the hospital due to exhaustion and dehydration.
The university’s management has expressed concern for Enitan’s health and has advised students to prioritize their well-being over any record-breaking attempts.
