Ikoiwak begs voters not to sell votes

Voters in Akwa Ibom have been discouraged from vote-selling during the council poll and other elections in the country.

This call was made by Aniedi Ikoiwak, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC).  “The electorate need to resist those who want to buy their conscience and go ahead to vote their conscience. Voters must resist vote buying because it is their conscience that is being bought.”

Ikoiwak also pointed out that there have been improvements in the electoral process over the years, and it is the responsibility of the populace to ensure that the process is further improved and the will of the people is granted.
