Comments by All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, concerning his rival, Rabiu Kwankwaso’s quest to bag a ministerial appointment for President Bola Tinubu’s administration is generating ripples in the media waves.
Ganduje, who had served as Kwankwaso’s deputy when the latter held sway as Kano State governor, threw jabs at his erstwhile boss, alleging his involvement in a series of actions to further his political ambitions.
Ganduje’s remarks were captured in a video that has gained traction across social media platforms.
In the video, he claimed that Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party, orchestrated demolitions in Kano for a strategic purpose.

According to Ganduje, the demolitions were engineered by Kwankwaso to position himself as a champion of progress who would revitalise the Abuja master plan. He said Kwankwaso had also actively lobbied to become the Federal Capital Territory minister.
Ganduje’s allegations have surfaced amid a long-standing rivalry between himself and Kwankwaso.
The two politicians have had a history of political differences that have captured the Nigerian public’s and media’s attention.
Ganduje once told State House correspondents that he would have slapped Kwankwaso’s face if he had met him on a day both of them visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Kwankwaso has not officially responded to the recent allegations by his political rival.
