Manchester City was once again condemned to a quarter-final exit from the Champions League in three years. This time, it was from the hands of Olympique Lyon behind closed doors at the Estadio Jose Avalade.
Goals from Maxwel Cornet (1) and Moussa Dembele (2) were enough to diminish Kevin De Bruyne’s effort in the second half.
This must have been embarrassing for Man City because Lyon sits at seventh on the French Ligue table and had only played two competitive games since March.
The win sets up a tantalising semi-final between Bayern Munich and Lyon.
