W’Africa Deaf Football: Deaf Eagles thrash Niger 2-0, cruise into final

 

Defending champions, Deaf Super Eagles of Nigeria yesterday defeated Niger Republic 2-0 in one of the semi-final matches of the on-going 13th West Africa Deaf Football Tournament/ 3rd West Africa Athletics Championship to qualify for the final.

Deaf Eagles utility player and tormentor in-chief, Ike Chukwuemeka swings from left to scored the two goals in the 31st and 88th minutes to send Nigeria to the final.

The final comes up on Saturday 30 August 2025 at the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola National stadium Abuja.

At the time of writing this report the second semi-final between Liberia and Gambia was still on-going.

Meanwhile, Niger Republic, who lost 0-2 to Nigeria are standing by to take on the looser of the 2nd semi-final between Liberia and Gambia for the bronze positionlater today, Friday 29 August 2025 ahead of Saturday’s grand finale.

The athletics events starts today and will climaxed on Saturday before the football final.

Six countries, Cote’Ivoire, Gambia, Niger Republic, Liberia, Togo and Nigeria the host country registered for the football event and were drawn in two groups of A and B with 3 in each group.
The first two teams qualified for the semi-final.
