Three million Nigerian children un-immunized – FG

The Federal government has admitted that at least three million children in the country are not immunized.

The National Facilitator of the Modified Integrated Medical Outreach Programme, Hadeza Jibril disclosed this in Calabar during the flag off of the programme.

She said it is in determination of address this that and bridge the gal that the government initiated the programme.

She disclosed that over 800,000 children are expected to be immunized  across the country including Cross River State.

“We have three million in immunized children in Nigeria but this programme will bridge this gap and catch those children.

” All the 36 States in Nigeria including the FCT are involved and over 800,000 children in Nigeria will be immunized”, she said.

Also speaking, the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Janet Archibong said the programme is a high impact intervention aimed at improving key indicators.

She said the government does not want to leave any child behind in this programme and urged mothers to take advantage of it.

She said the project will be have a fixed post, mobile post and temporary post and children in hard to reach as well as riverine areas with difficult terrain will be the main target.
