Eid-el-Fitr: Rivers gov-elect, Fubara congratulates Muslims

The Governor-Elect of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara congratulates the Muslim community across the country as they celebrate this year’s Eid El-Fitr.

 

In a statement from his media office on Thursday, the Governor-Elect noted that this year’s celebration is unique as the nation prepares for another period of a smooth transition from one civilian government to another.

He also called on the Muslim faithful to uphold the tenets of Islam and the obligations of Ramadan as we pray for peace in the nation to manage the processes that will lead to a successful transition and the deepening of democratic values in the country.

 

In his words, “As we celebrate this Eid El-Fitr to mark the end of Ramadan and commencement of Shawaal, I urge you to pray for the peace of our beloved nation as we inch towards another period of handover.”

 

“It is important that as the nation is transitioning from one civilian government to another, we must all play our role to deepen democratic values to move our nation forward,” he concluded.

 

Sir Fubara commended the Muslim community in Rivers State for their massive support that culminated in giving him a tremendous victory at the polls. He assured them that the interest of all people will be covered by his administration.
