How NSCDC prevents bloody community crisis in Kwara

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara Command, have prevented a bloody clash amongst a Fulani family at the Ikoroku community in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesman, Mr. Babawale Afolabi, in Ilorin on Wednesday.

Afolabi said that according to the report from NSCDC Divisional Office in Kaiama, the problem started after the death of one Alhaji Bello.

“After the death of Alhaji Bello, his younger brother took the dead man’s wife to marry, but the children of the deceased were not happy about it.

“They accused their uncle of having something to do with the death of their father,” he said.

The spokesman said that the children of the deceased vowed to take back their mother from their uncle and it later turned to a bloody fight.

“The matter escalated and one Rabiu Aliyu was attacked with a cutlass.

“He sustained multiple injuries on his nose and started bleeding profusely,” he said.
