A 23-year-old man simply identified as Chinonso Anene has allegedly committed suicide in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

Anene, who is a business administration graduate of York University, Canada, allegedly shot himself dead at his residence located at 9, Emmanuel Court, Olusegun Aina Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi.

According to reports, the deceased locked himself in the his apartment before carrying out the act.

Confirming the incident in a statement, the police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin said the police arrived at the scene of the incident after a distress call from the chief Security Officer of Parkview Estate, Mr. Daramola.

he said “The DPO Ikoyi Division received a distress call from the Chief Security Officer of Parkview Estate, Mr Daramola, that Chinonso Anene has committed suicide.

Based on the report, a team of detectives visited and photographed the scene, the door was forced open and one expended cartridge was recovered.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at Lagos Island morgue for autopsy while an investigation is ongoing.
