The apex Igbo Socio-Cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Monday, said there is a no better alternative than dialogue and negotiation such all sections of people of Nigeria live together and harmoniously with one another in peace and unity instead of persistent polarization of the system with military personnel.
It raised the alarm that the agenda of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) may have been hijacked by the enemies of the people of the South East States of the country aimed at sabotaging the socio-economic lives of the geopolitical zone.
Vice President of OhanaezeNdigbo worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene in an interview with newsmen in Awka the Anambra State Capital, said that the body right from the time had its mindset o the demand for restructuring of the county.
He said that what gave rise to agitations by the IPOB, Niger Delta militants in the South-South zone, and lately the Yoruba Nation was because of injustice, marginalization, lack of equity, justice, and fair play in Nigeria.
According to him, “If there were justice, equity, and fairness, there would be no Niger Delta, Zango Kartaf or IPOB.”
Chief Ogene also emphasized the position of Ohanaeze while reacting to the aftermath of the Igbo leaders visit President Mohammed Buhari at the Presidential Villa last week, led by the first Aviation Minister, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, and other Igbo elders said the outcome of the visit was a welcome development

He pointed out that “As a cultural organization Ohaneze believes in dialogue and negotiations and political solution than the use of military tactics.
He maintained that proscribing IPOB and tagging it as a terrorist group when they are not armed with guns was just to give the dog a bad name in order to hang it.
The Ohaneze Chieftain however eulogized the humility and leadership maturity demonstrated by the President and commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammed Buhari for giving hope to the hopeless Igbo people to have a peaceful resolution of the matter.
“This is the beginning of having light at the end of the tunnel. However, it must go down on record that the sit-at-home was at the extreme of the Federal Government, and as soon as they start having a soft pedal in their stand, and allow dialogue to take precedence everything will go down well and Nigeria will win.” Ogene said
