One policeman has reportedly died while three others are still missing following a boat mishap involving a security surveillance team along Korokorosei waterways in the Niger-Delta region.
ThisNigeria gathered that the incident occurred at about 2000 hours on July 25, 2022 when the boat conveying the policemen on surveillance mission capsized at Korokorosei waterways, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
Security sources said that the lifeless body of one of the policemen has since been recovered while three are still missing.
Reps to intervene in ASUU strike
Local divers were said to have been deployed to the area for possible rescue of the missing persons.
It was gathered that the police command is yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.
The police public relations officer (PPRO) for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe could not be reached for comments on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
