My mother served as my composer, K1 De Ultimate reveals

Popular Fuji singer, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known otherwise as K1 De Ultimate has revealed that his late mother, Alhaja Halima Anifowoshe, helped him compose some of his songs before her death.

Speaking recently, the Fuji Maestro revealed why he is dedicating a track to honour the memory of his late mother who died in January 2025.

According to the singer, his mother couldn’t professionally sing during her lifetime because of her position as the daughter of a prominent king, but her skills were transferred to him (K1) by God.

He said, “To the memory of my mother, who also taught me about the rudiments of music and singing. As a young lady, my mother was a singer, a princess by birth who was denied the opportunity of doing music because of what she was. Because she was a woman, her father, a sitting king wanted her to settle in marriage but everything was transferred to me by God.

“Often, she served as my composer, very many times during her lifetime, she made her contribution to my music development. So, I think it’s honorable for me to remember her and dedicate a track to her.”
