
There was plenty of fun and friendship on Sunday afternoon (September 10) as members of the veteran Island Football Club of Lagos commemorated ex-Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha at @50.
The former PSG and Bolton Wanderers superstar was highly elated as the veterans and other club members played a well-organized anniversary football game with him before the wining and dining section at the Italian International School, Lekki.

Expectedly, the friends of Jay Jay were dazzled by the retired player who was pleased by the honour from the Island Football Club members.
He said he lacks words to express his gratitude to the members & friends who he has been playing with since quitting International Football.
While featuring for both sides, the classy Jay Jay’s magical touch, neat dribbles and precise passes rekindled the admiration of the Island Football Veterans and fans of the club at the venue.
Before long photo sections and eulogiethe s, ooverclockingoverclockingrian legend scored two classy goals besides several wonderful assists and the usual showmanship of yore.
After the final whistle of the match handled by Lagos State football referees, the captain of Island Football Club, Olabiyi Emanuel described Jay Jay as a gift from God to Nigerians, nay Africans. He said they are proud to have Jay Jay as their member.
In the same vein the Secretary-General, Timothy Nunu said they are inspired by Jay Jay’s rare humility and friendship when he is around them despite his God-given talent.
On his part the oldest member of the Island Football Club, Austin Charles Asianya also known as Papa said Okocha is a big inspiration to everyone and stressed the need for members and friends not to compromise regarding fitness on and off the pitch.
