Bandits reportedly attacked an Abuja-bound train on Wednesday.
A former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani confirmed the incident on Thursday via Twitter.
According to Sani, the bandits planted an explosive that blew up the rail track and nearly caused a derailment of the train.
“Yesterday, terrorists attacked the Kaduna-Abuja railway with an explosive and opened fire on the train, targeting the engine driver and the tank.
“This morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive damaged rail track. It took a miracle for us to escape,” he tweeted.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) also confirmed that the rail tracks for the Kaduna-Abuja services were blown up by ye-to-be-identified persons.
