The Heads of Border Authorities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan held a meeting to discuss issues related to the transit of goods being imported to Afghanistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The meeting was held at Uzbekistan’s border town of Termez at the request of the Afghan side.

Transit of essential goods such as food, medicine, clothing, fuel, and lubricants was discussed during the meeting.

The ministry said an agreement was reached to take a number of measures aimed at solving problems and transit delivery of goods to Afghanistan, in connection with the difficult humanitarian situation in the country.
