
The former Chief of Army Staff, the late Gen. Inuwa Wushishi, was on Wednesday laid to rest in Kaduna.
The burial prayer was conducted at the Sultan Bello Juma’at Mosque and later the corpse was buried at Unguwan Sarki Cemetery.
Recall that Wushishi died at a London Hospital while battling with a protracted ailment at the age of 81.
Among the dignitaries who attended the burial were the former Head of State, retired Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar; the Minister of Defence, retired Maj.-Gen. Bashir Magashi; and the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Farouk Yahaya.
Speaking to newsmen at the residence of the deceased, Gen. Abubakar, described the deceased as a ‘brother’ and a person who lived a life worthy of emulation.

Abubakar also described him as a committed officer and an elder statesman who served Nigeria with utmost passion.
He expressed grief and sadness over the death, praying for God to grant him paradise and eternal rest.
