Pearl-Harris Marable @MarableHarris:  ‘I’m amazed at the accusations that he does this “behind the cutains,” (sic) as if they know the history of this mans relationship with his son! Nobody said it was okay, the man repented! Who has right a right to judge a man’s heart after 20+ years of priv/pub ministry?
Kyle J. Howard@KyleJamesHoward: “What was recorded, irregardless of context, was verbally abusive Kirk. You are a public Christian figure. You can’t have the privilege of a public platform built on integrity & character & then say “personal matter” when it comes to how you speak to your kids. 4 U, but own it.

Karla Kelley @kkelley52: “You obviously didn’t listen to his entire apology & aren’t in a position to make a statement re: Franklin Family Matters. Unlike the “good Baptist” announcer who blamed his foul behavior on diabetes, Kirk owned his error. Pls stay in your lane.

Those of us that have toxic family members that we love, completely understand and this is a private family matter. We will keep you and the family in prayer. We love you and we all are striving to make it. Be blessed

If this is how you are when you lose your temper, then its NOT the first time you’ve done this or the first person you’ve done it to. Don’t listen to people telling you that this was okay or that you didn’t owe anyone an apology. This is not okay.
To anyone reading the comments: YOU’RE NOT CRAZY. The idea that a good Christian person only lashes put when someone really deserves it? That’s not true. There is ALWAYS an alternative to escalating toxic situations. It’s not you. It really wasn’t right what they did.
