Olofin, Ogun monarch returns from exile 7 years after

By Moshood Adebayo.

It was a triumphant return for the Olofin of Ado Odo , in Ado Odo/Local Government Area of Ogun State<  Oba Lateef Akanni Adeniran  as he  stepped  into the town  again 7 years after.

Oba Adeniran has been living in exile since the unfortunate incident of April 15, 2013, when he was humiliated, maltreated by hoodlums suspected to have been sponsored by his opponents.

During the fracas, the ancient Olofin’s palace with many traditional artifacts including ancient crown were destroyed.

Oba Adeniran’s attackers did not only beat him to stupor but stripped him naked with his wife escaped being raped by their assailants.

However, she sustained severe injuries which left her to carry the Plaster of Paris (POP) for so many months.

But it was a new dawn for the Olofin penultimate Sunday (December 20, 2020), as he returned to Ado Odo amid encomiums by his subjects who trooped out to welcome him.

Before he was welcomed at the town’s hall, during a summit organised by the town’s youths, Oba Adeniran was heralded into the town by no fewer than 200 convoys of vehicles and motorcycles singing his praises.

During the ceremony, Oba Adeniran thanked his subjects, both males and females for ensuring that peace returned to the town.

‘’This is a new down in Ado-Odo, may God be with us all. May the unity and peace that has returned to the town be an everlasting one. It is my prayer that prosperity and goodwill return to Ado-Odo”, he prayed.
