The impending Local Government Council Election has continued to generate ripples between the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) and the major opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in Osun state.
The PDP that recently won the governorship election insisted that the out going administration has no right to conduct the election before its exit in governance.
However, the state electoral body, Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) has already fixed October for the election.
To this end, the Osun APC has warned PDP to stop its threat to plunge the state into an avoidable crisis over the conduct of the local government election in the state.
According to the state chairman of the APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun in a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo, the party frowned at the series of threats by the PDP at a news conference addressed by the state caretaker chairman of the party, Dr Akindele Adekunle, where he threatened confusion over the election.
The APC reminded the PDP that Governor Gboyega Oyetola who is still enjoying the protection of the constitution as the subsisting bonafide governor of the state would not allow any irritant to dictate to him on how to run his government within the stipulated four-year pact that he signed with the people of the state.

APC informed the PDP that there is an option available to approach the court instead of threatening to bring down the government of Oyetola.
The APC statement also reminded the PDP handlers that the law of sedition is firmly in force to deal with anyone who is contemplating an insurrection against any lawful authority.
The statutory security outfits according to the statement should also be at alert to nip in the bud any plans of any individual or group of renegades whose intention is to promote chaos in the state.
Famodun who stated that the use of self help has no nexus with a democratic institution explained that the OSSIEC as a corporate body can sue and be sued by anyone or a corporate body which has an axe to grind with it.
