
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, yesterday ordered the sacking of 21 top officials of parastatals, agencies, and companies owned by the FCT Administration.
In a press statement issued by the Minister’s Director of Press, Anthony Ogunleye, the sacking is with immediate effect.
Reasons for the action were not stated and there was no reaction as at press time.
The statement read in part, “The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has relieved the heads of the following parastatals, agencies, and government companies of the FCTA of their appointments with immediate effect.”
Those affected by the action included the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Abuja Investment Company Ltd; MD/CEO, Abuja Markets Management Ltd; MD/CEO, Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company; CEO/MD, Abuja Property Development Company; CEO/MD Abuja Technology Village Free Trade Zone Company and CEO/MD Abuja Film Village International.
Others are the CEO/MD of AICL Equipment Leasing Company Ltd; the MD of Abuja Broadcasting Corporation; the MD of Abuja Enterprise Agency; the GM of FCT Water Board; the DG of FCT Emergency Management Agency; the Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Healthcare Board.

Still on the list are the Coordinator of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Centre; the Director of the FCT Health Insurance Scheme; the Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department and the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council.
The statement directed them to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank while appointments into the offices will be made in due course.
