Another dramatic escape of a kidnapped victim has occurred between Afo and Idoani in Ondo state when a farmer from Eriti-Akoko escaped from the kidnappers’ den when they slept off.
The latest victim was an a-55-year-old Supare-Akoko cocoa merchant, Mr. Idowu Shaba who was on his way for a church program in Idoani along with others when they were suddenly waylaid by unknown gunmen, picking Shaba and a lady.
According to the source, the duo was led to the forest while they tied their hands.
Shaba disclosed that they have been demanding N10m ransom.
In the night, Shaba pretended and started snoring, this made his abductors sleep deeply.
Shaba seized the opportunity to carry their weapons and used their sharp cutlasses to kill two of them and wounded one who ran away.
The Victim however carried their Ak 47 rifle, cutlasses, and another dangerous weapon in their possession and also rescued the other lady in their den.
Police arraign man for N2.3m visa fraud
The source said the rifles had police inscriptions.
It was not immediately known whether the recovered weapons were delivered to Amotekun corps or police at Supare Akoko.
Sources said the victim, Shaba, threw a party to celebrate his escapade from the den of kidnappers.
When the Divisional Police Officer, Oba-Akoko, Chief Superintendent of Police, Kehinde Fabunmi was contacted he said the incident did not occur n his division as it happened between Afo and Adonai.
Efforts to speak with the Victim and the Divisional Police Officer, Super Akoko proved abortive but a resident, Amusa Ehinjuanobi confirmed the incident.
