#ENDSARS: Cross-section of Plateau youths hold a peaceful protest

Cross-section of some youths in Jos the Plateau state capital on  Wednesday staged a peaceful protest in the evening at the National Museum headquarters in Jos to commemorate with their victims, who died on October 20, 2020, Endsars protest.

The peaceful event,  took close to an hour before armed security personnel stormed the venue and ask them to leave, calling their gathering illegal.

Our correspondent reports that the aggrieved youths numbering 30  converged at the National museum at about 6:30 pm to kick start the solemn event.

The event was climax with candlelight as a sign of respect to the fallen heroes.

One of them, an activist, who spoke to newsmen in anonymity, said, “it is not about people coming out en-masse. This is a solemn event in which our little number is enough to commemorate the death of Nigerian youths who sacrificed their lives during October 20, 2020, endears protest across the country.

He added, “we are here for a Peaceful event and we don’t want to clash with the security agents, because of the state of insecurity bedeviling some part of the state.

According to him, we are not been sponsored by anybody, but self-sponsored. All we are doing is pay our to those killed and mark the one-year anniversary of endears.

They called on citizens of the state to be peaceful and law-abiding at all times.
