Sen Daduut empowers over 100 women with starter packs, grants in Plateau

The Senator representing Plateau South in the National Assembly Prof. Dame Nora Ladi  Daduut has empowered over 100 women of her constituency with starter packs and grants in the Wase local government council of the state.

“The socio-economic independence of the woman is paramount and they deserved to be empowered more “she stressed.

“I believe in empowerment because that’s the quickest way to create wealth and bridge the unemployment gaps. I’ll continue to devote my tenure to assist in helping our youths, aged and women to be self-reliant,” she stressed.

Our correspondent reports that the Senator had some months ago distributed empowerment kits to 175 members of her Constituency.

Dadu’ut also in March 2021   empowered over 150 youths and women of her constituency with grants worth N3.75 million.

Speaking at the occasion on Wednesday in Wase, she urged public officials to make the empowerment of those who elected them a priority.

Represented by her Special Adviser on Political matters Hon. Musa Sa’ad, the Senator said she facilitated the empowerment to further impact the lives of the people of her Senatorial district.

The Senator said that the essence of governance was to impact the lives of the people, and urged elected officials to always live to that expectation.

She said the empowerment programme was also part of her efforts to fulfil her campaign promises of providing an improved living condition to the people of Plateau South.

The Senator further added that the empowerment programme was aimed at providing sustainable livelihood to the beneficiaries.

Senator Dadu’ut also said that such motivations would reduce the rate of unemployment and over-dependence in her Senatorial district.

She vowed to always put the interest of her Constituents first at all times.

The Senator urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the grant.

Our correspondent further reports that Senator Dadu’ut, the first female senator in the history of Plateau State, has been working hard to empower women and Youths in her Constituency since her emergence as Senator Representing Plateau South Senatorial district at National Assembly.

Most of those empowered were artisans and traders in her Senatorial district.
