A stalwart of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Chief John Olibie, has tasked former National Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh, the serving member of the House of Representatives for Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka Federal Constituency, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, Mr. Uzu Okagbue and others, contesting for Anambra Central Senatorial District to work in unity, if they must defeat the serving Senator, Uche Lilian Ekwunife, of the People Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 general election.
He said it would take a unanimous battle among the aspirants and the party at large in Anambra Central District to defeat Senator Ekwunife who has a strong political base
Chief Olibie stated this while speaking to newsmen, shortly after APGA local government and ward executives in Dunukofia Council Area of the State, endorsed Hon. Dozie Nwankwo for Senate, at the Council Headquarters, along Enugu-Onitsha-Awka expressway in Ukpo town.
According to him, I want all the APGA Senatorial aspirants in Anambra Central Senatorial District to work in unity to ensure the party wins the incoming election.
“For Senator Ekwunife, of the PDP, it is difficult to defeat her, because, she has established a strong political base across communities that constitute Anambra Central Senatorial District.”
“Ekwunife is a factor, you can not undermine her, because APGA is in control of the state, with the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, being the governor of the state under APGA. Umeh, Nwankwo, and other incoming aspirants need to intensify their campaign on issue-based if they must defeat her during the election.”
He said that APGA has been winning the governorship and State Legislative elections since the era of Mr. Peter Obi, as a grassroots political party.

Hon. Olivia expressed confidence that with the political policies of governor Soludo, come 2023, APGA will win all the National and State Houses of Assembly elections.
Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, who thanked the party supporters for endorsing him, assured us that he remains the only APGA Senatorial aspirant who can challenge Senator Uche Ekwunife, in the electoral exercise.
Senator Umeh, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, an aide to the immediate past governor of the state, Willie Obiano, Mr. Uzu Okagbue, and others are poised to unseat Senator Ekwunife of the PDP, from the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
