Government Ekpemupolo popularly called Tompolo on Tuesday again breaks his silence over non-inauguration of a substantive board for the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
Tompolo who spoke through his media aide, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo said they are surprised that the national Assembly approved the yearly budget for a commission that has been surrounded with controversies.
Bebenimibo who exonerated the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio for non-inauguration of a substantive board for NDDC blamed both committees at the National Assembly for denying the region of their right.
Tompolo also blamed some of the stakeholders in the region for playing politics with the commission because of their selfish interests.
While saying that the region will continue to maintain peace, however, said it will get to a point where the people who bear the pains can no longer resist it.
He, therefore, advised President Mohammadu Buhari to heed the people calls as what is currently in existence is against the law establishing the commission.
” We don’t really know what is going on in the delay of the inauguration of a substantial board for the NDDC.
” What we know is that National Assembly, some of our people in the region are culpable. They are playing politics with the collective rights of our people.
” But I also tell you that, we will allow peace to continue to reign in the Niger Delta.

” Why we are saying the National Assembly is culpable is that, they are quite aware that the commission is being run by one man, yet they went ahead and approved their budget. Then, what are we saying?
” Our advice is for Mr. President to listen to the people of the Region that are seriously affected because one day, you can no longer decisive and get away with it.
