All students of Ogun state schools are assured of receiving automatic promotion as soon as they resume school on the 21st of September 2020.
Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, made this known in a press statement he issued.
This means that students who were in primary six would immediately resume into JSS1 classes. However, students of 3-5 years early Child Care Development and Education classes are exempted from this automatic promotion and would not be resuming into public schools at this time.
Somorin also made it known that all schools would have to meet certain measures, such as providing isolation rooms, designating and training selected teachers as first responders, having regular body checks, mandating the use of face masks, and suspension of assemblies.
The resumption time for the public primary school in the state was designated as 8 am to 11 am for JSS1 to JSS3 while SS1 to SS3 would resume from 12 pm to 3 pm.
