Following poor performances of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the last Presidential/National Assembly elections in Ondo state, the opposition party is losing its members in droves through defections and resignation of their membership.
Among the former PDP Chieftains who have called to quit the PDP are Hon. Solomon Bitire, former Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Council and former governor aspirant, Banji Okunomo
Bitire, who is also a former party chairman of the PDP in Okitipupa Local Government resigned his membership from the party in a letter addressed to his ward chairman in Ode Erinje, Okitipupa local government of Ondo State.
Bitire after his resignation said he would communicate his next line of action after wide consultation with his supporters.

Also. Banji Okunomo, a former governorship aspirant of the PDP in Ondo State, and his political allies, Mr Jossy Ehinmore, with Hon. Olorunwa Malo, had also dumped the opposition PDP in a separate resignation letter the trio addressed to their various ward chairmen in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
With the latest development, the structure of PDP in the state is on the verge of collapse due to mass defection of PDP stalwarts and their teeming supporters from across the state
The last Presidential/ National Assembly was massively won by APC for its candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, with all the nine House of Representatives and three Senatorial seats.
