Telecommunication users in the country have kicked against the introduction of a new tax on phone calls to fund the provision of healthcare to vulnerable Nigerians who cannot afford the cost of medical care.
The directive was contained in the National Health Insurance Authority Bill 2022 signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on May 19.
Buhari said the National Health Insurance Authority Bill 2022 will ensure coverage for 83 million poor Nigerians who cannot afford to pay premiums.
Reacting to this, some Twitter users have kicked against the newly imposed tax levy.
