2023: Labour Party’s Ezenwafor withdraws from presidential race

The factional presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Jude Ezewanfor has formally withdrawn from the  presidential race of the party on Thursday.

Ezenwafor was elected on Wednesday at a convention organized by the Labour party as its presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, contesting against Peter Obi, the presumed flagbearer of the party.

However, in a letter signed by Ezenwafor and addresed to the party’s chairman ,he announced his withdrawal from the party’s presidential race.

The letter read “I hereby withdraw from the forthcoming presidential election in 2023

“After consulting my supporters nationwide, I decided to withdraw for personal reasons.

2023: Only candidates who emerge through democratic primaries will be accepted – INEC Chair

“I regret any inconvenience my withdrawal might cost our great party

“I thank the leadership of our great party for giving me the opportunity to serve Nigeria”

“Thank you and God bless you.”
