Obasa declares self Lagos Assembly Speaker, resumes office

The ousted Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared himself the leader of the lawmakers in the state.

The declaration came on Thursday after the ousted assembly leader resumed his position.

“I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly,” Obasa said.

Recall that Obasa had earlier stormed the assembly complex with police and State Security Service details for the first time since he was removed on January 13.
