Rising from the meeting of the Southern Governors Forum in Lagos, the South West Governors has requested an urgent meeting with Senators from the southwest geopolitical zone today, Tuesday, 6th July 2021.

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, made this known on the floor of the Upper Legislative Chamber today shortly before the commencement of its plenary.

Lawan also revealed that top on the agenda of the meeting slated for a private hotel in Abuja includes the recently passed Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) now awaiting harmonization by the Senate and the House of Representatives; the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill and another business of the day.

Meanwhile, the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, also announced that the majority All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the Red Chamber would meet in the National Assembly shortly after the day’s plenary but he was however silent on the agenda of the meeting.
