Buhari’s plan to fix Port Harcourt refinery not something to say Hallelujah for – WIke

The Governor of Rivers State, Governor Nyesom Wike has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of $1.5 billion to fix the Port Harcourt refinery is not something to shout Hallelujah for.

The governor speaking on a television programme,   Politics Today on Channels Television, Thursday, said that such a approval does not mean that that money will be released.

He went further asking rhetorically:  ”Where is the oil being produced? Why is it that the refinery where the oil is being produced is not working?

He also lamented that the state has had lot of promises and talks from the Buhari-lead government but nothing has come out of them.

“We have had a lot of promises, we have had a lot of talks and nothing has materialized. Wike said.

He said the the approval for $1.5 billion for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery is no reasons for him to jubilate because Buhari government say so.

He said: “Approval is not release. I am not going to jubilate because the Federal Government said they have approved $1.5 billion for the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery. It is not something to say Hallelujah for.”
