Armed Robbers attacked a bullion van today at Idi-Ape in Ibadan Oyo State, killing four policemen and four others.

Reports came that the bullion van that was transporting money to a bank around the area when was intercepted by armed robbers dressed in Police uniforms.

The armed robbers who disguised as police officers fired several shots at the escort in way of intercepting the van, they trailed the bullion van down to Idi-Ape, tried to take over the bullion van but was unsuccessful as the drivers managed to escape with the van.

Report reaching us said while the hoodlums were operating, the whole area was dry and silent as people ran for their lives

This same incident happened years back, in 2008 precisely, where many lives were lost.

Furthermore, the police command has launched a manhunt for the fleeing armed robbers, assuring the public they would be arrested.

It was gathered that the Idi-Ape area of Iwo Road was deserted while the operation by the hoodlums lasted.
