Opposition Task Jigawa Government on Resettling Flood Victims

The Jigawa Chapter of the opposition party, ( PDP) has called on Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar to as  matter of urgency resettle victims of flood disaster, with  good shelter and foodstuffs.

In a statement issued and signed by the party’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Umar Isa Mungadi, it states that the Jigawa PDP family commensurate with all those that were affected by the statewide flood disaster.

The statement is quoted as saying, as the rainy season is still on, we call on Jigawa state government to support our people in curbing the ever increasing threat of flood and alleviating their sufferings, especially those already affected by the flood.

” The PDP family pray for the quick recovery of Jigawa state people from  the shock and loss of properties they suffered during the occurrences of the flood”

In a related development, Executive Members of the Dutse Development Associations on behalf of member’s of the organization have assisted the flood victims of metropolitan Dutse with N3.5m to cushion the effects of the menace.

Speaking while presenting the cheque to Chairman Dutse Local Government Council, Alh. Bala Yakubu Yargaba, the forum’s Chairman, Alh. Gantsa said “Our mission to Dutse LGA was to firstly commiserate with the Council’s Chairman Bala Yargaba amongst other and to offer a token support to our community who were affected by the flood disaster, and to canvass further support on their behalf”

“He called on members to uphold all guiding principle’s in controlling and prevention of flood disaster”

“People should indulge the habit of blockage of dust bin to most of our rivers so as to control over flow of water leading to massive destructions to Houses in our major town and cities.

Responding, the Dutse Council Chairman, Bala Yargaba thanked the associations for the gesture, and assured proper utilizations of all that was gathered judiciously for the purpose intended.
