Strong indications have emerged that the Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed will gun for the nation’s apex seat, the presidency come 2023 general elections.
Feelers from the aspiring governor have indicated verbatim that he will take a shot to the presidency in the next elections, as he succinctly puts it thus “My contact group as to whether or not I will run for the apex slot to the states of the federation has already covered 14 states”.
The Governor, said at a special dinner organized by the Bauchi Christian community marking his 63 birthday, that the positive response gathered by his contact team from the states so far visited was very encouraging and motivating.
Senator Bala Mohammed explained however that what surprisingly dazed him most was a leader’s remark from a yet-to-be-visited Southern state of the federation, where the encomiums showed for his agility to rule the country if Nigerians afford him the opportunity.
Bala, who claimed to have hailed from a family of double faiths of Islam and Christianity, recalled that both the faiths have in one way or the other immensely contributed to his ascension as the duly elected governor of Bauchi State in the 2019 general elections.
The Governor gave names of two of his brothers, Reverend Father Dal and Bappah Mohammed, one already in grave and the other now bedridden whom, he said, have played significant roles to the position he now occupies in the society, assuring that he would not let them down.
Bala, while describing himself as a perfectionist, said “I want more, we hardly sleep because we want to work, but you have to give the allowance that we are all the same, so let us collapse into one family of humanity”.
“Every Muslim knows that this World is for everybody, you are only different when you go to the hereafter, maybe in the judgment day, but God has given us everything, he pledged to give this World to everyone irrespective of faith, so we should not be deceiving ourselves”.

The governor, who stressed the need for all-inclusive governance, stated “We are putting Bauchi on the threshold of prosperity and we are doing it with the little resources we have because it does not how much you have, but how well you use small resources to impact positively on the growth and development of your immediate community or state”.
Senator Bala Mohammed who observed that Nigeria has not reached a level where religion doesn’t play a role, thanked the Christian community for feting him, as well as the Muslim community, the Ulamas who have earlier given similar gestures
While expressing gratitude for the trust and confidence reposed in him by the electorate, the governor assured of working very hard at every level of governance he finds himself as, according to him, that is the only take away he has in his leadership of leaving of the legacy of unity, love, and prosperity.
