Let us heal, unite and build a greater Osun — Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called for reconciliation across the state following his victory in the August 15 governorship election, urging residents to end political divisions and focus on the development of the state.
In a message shared on X on Friday, Adeleke thanked voters for giving him another four-year mandate, describing the outcome as a collective decision by the people of Osun.
He said the renewed mandate came with a greater responsibility to serve the people and justify their confidence in his administration.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful for the confidence you have reposed in me by re-electing me as your Governor,” Adeleke said.
The governor also acknowledged traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, civil servants, pensioners, youths, women, artisans, traders, farmers and other groups whose participation contributed to the electoral process.
He said his victory should not be viewed as the triumph of one political camp over another, stressing that the responsibility of building Osun now extends to everyone in the state.
“This victory belongs to all of us, and I accept this renewed mandate with humility and a deep sense of responsibility,” he said.
Adeleke also paid tribute to victims of violence recorded in the build-up to the election, offering condolences to their families and praying for comfort for those they left behind.
“As we celebrate, we also remember the victims of electoral violence before the election. My heartfelt condolences go to their families and loved ones,” he said.
The governor subsequently appealed to residents to close the chapter on the tensions and disagreements that characterised the election campaign.
“Together, let us heal, unite and continue building a greater Osun,” Adeleke said.
